National Certification System for Tissue Culture Raised Plants (NCS-TCP)
Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India has established the “National Certification System for Tissue Culture Raised Plants (NCS-TCP)” under the “Seeds Act, 1966” vide Gazette Notification dated March 10, 2006 for facilitating production and distribution of quality tissue culture planting material in terms of virus free and genetically uniform. The detailed information on NCS-TCP might be accessed from NCS-TCP website (http://www.dbtncstcp.nic.in/). This programme is being managed by Project Management Unit (PMU) at Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), New Delhi. PMU of NCS-TCP intends to prepare directory of Indian plant tissue culture companies in India”. This will help the NCS-TCP in understanding the details about Indian tissue culture sector. Tissue culture companies listed in the directory would be benefited by receiving updates and relevant news time to time.
